Hundreds Turn Out for Inaugural Fundraiser

Benefiting Autism Society and Day Haven

Community Care Home Health Services held its first annual Christmas in July Community Event and Fundraiser on July 25th, which benefited the Autism Society of Nassau/Suffolk and Day Haven Adult Day Services. John’s Crazy Socks served as co-sponsor of the event.

Guests enjoyed a wide variety of activities, including taking photos with Santa, decorating holiday cookies, Christmas-themed ring toss and other games, animal-shaped balloons from The Long Island Balloon Guy, as well as hot dogs by Diesel Dogs and soft-serve ice cream from Mister Softee. To add to the holiday mood, Ben Blancet, from the Music Academy for Special Learners, played Christmas tunes on a steel drum.

Aside from the activities and snacks, guests could visit info booths to learn more about a host of services provided by the event’s sponsors, including:

  • Aetna
  • Amber Court Assisted Living Communities
  • Brandow Law
  • Brookside Multicare Center
  • Clip And Hang Organizer
  • Community Care Rx*
  • Emics Elder Care
  • John’s Crazy Socks
  • PHP – Partners Health Plan

“The turnout was phenomenal,” said Kelly Woolsey, Director of Business Development for Community Care Home Health Services. “Even the sudden showers didn’t dampen the fun!”

The evening was capped off by a Community Education Session featuring John and Mark Cronin of John’s Crazy Socks, who spoke of their company’s rise from humble beginnings to advocating for people with differing abilities on Capitol Hill. Other participants, including Brandow Law and Day Haven, provided further information about their services.
