There is no better caregiver than a family member or a friend that loves you!
The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a New York State Medicaid home care program which allows consumers to hire family, friends, neighbors, or the Personal Assistant (PA) of their choice to provide services for help with activities of daily living (ADL), such as grooming, dressing, bathing, toileting, meal preparation, light housekeeping, escorting to medical appointments, escorting on errands, etc. Community Care’s CDPAP program allows you to take control of your homecare needs. With our CDPAP program, your family member or friend becomes your Personal Assistant and gets paid to care for you. Recipients have the flexibility and freedom to choose their own caregivers and hours of care. Essentially, they become their own “boss” of their home care services.
This home care alternative to traditional home care promotes privacy, independence, and autonomy for the individual receiving home care services and their family.
